What We Collect and Store Automatically
This is how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website. The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting our site. Please note that we collect no personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide that information to us.

If you visit our site to read or download information, we collect and store only the following information about your visit:

  • The name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account) and the Internet Protocol (IP) address or host name which may or may not identify a specific computer.

  • The date and time you access our site.

  • The pages you visit.

  • The Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site.

These web access logs may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to insure the integrity of the data on our servers.

When GCOM Members actually login to this website, we keep track of the Date/Time of their last login and the total number of times they have logged in (in the database).

Cookies
Although we DO NOT collect information through the use of web browser cookies, if you login successfully and chose to have the site "remember" your login -- fill it in when you go to login -- a cookie that contains your User ID will be set on your PC. The GCOM website will not store your password in this manner.

GCOM Member Info
When officially joining GCOM, all members must provide their basic contact information, consisting of their name, address, phone number and email address. This has been a policy of GCOM since its inception. This information, as of this new GCOM website coming on-line, will be stored in the database that drives this site. The only people that currently have access to this information are the President, the Secretary, and the Webmaster, and of course, the members themselves have access to their own information via the User Profile item, once they've logged in.

If a member wishes to withhold their name, email address and city/state from appearing when posting a Game Review, Tale of the Tape or from appearing on the Member List, they may make that choice from within the User Profile.

AT NO TIME WILL WE RELEASE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANY OTHER PERSON OR COMPANY WITHOUT YOUR EXPRESSED CONSENT.

Receiving Email From This Site
One of the services this website provides is the ability to join email lists. Any member may choose to be on the GCOM Weekly or GCOM Monthly email lists and/or be notified when new Game Reviews, Tales, and News items are posted by other members. These emails are generated automatically. They will be addressed as coming To and From the member themself and will always contain a short message at the bottom stating why they are receiving the email.

Links to Other Sites
Our Website has many links to other agencies, organizations and private organizations. When a member follows a link to another site, they are no longer on our site and are subject to the privacy policy of the new site.
