Do you like to play games? Wouldn't it be nice to go away for a weekend of gaming where you don't have to drive home late at night after playing a game and you don't have to cook your own meals? If this sounds appealing to you, please consider joining us for our 2012 Winter Retreat at the West River Retreat Center in Churchton, MD. Dates:	Friday, January 13th, 5:00 pm - Sunday, January 15th, 3:00 pm
Price:	$102 per person (includes two nights lodging and 5 meals) $82 per person ages 13-17 / $62 per person ages 4-12 $5 per person discount for GCOM Supporting Members $10 per person discount for GCOM Patron Members
Meals:	Food is served promptly at these times and is available for 30 minutes, but you can stay in the dining hall to eat for up to an hour after the meal start time. Saturday/Sunday Breakfast 8:00 am Saturday Lunch/Early Sunday Dinner 12:00 noon Saturday dinne 5:30 noon
Accommodations:	Each lodge has 8 separate rooms with 2 sets of adult-size bunk beds (up to 4 people will share a room) and 2 community bathrooms with private shower stalls and toilet facilities. ** You will need to bring your own sheets/sleeping bag and towels for your stay.
Gaming Space:	The meeting room is less than 200 feet from the dining hall and lodges, and there is a common area in each lodge that can be set up for late-night gaming so that all you have to do is walk 10 feet to your room when you are done. ** GCOM Library games will be available for use at the retreat -- feel free to contact Michelle Hymowitz (see email below) to request that certain games be brought.
Snack food:	Groups are allowed to bring their own food into the facility, so attendees would be able to order out pizza/take-out for dinner Friday night and bring their own snacks and drinks to have on hand to munch on between meals.

Wrap up:

I wanted to thank everyone for all the wonderful food contributions this past weekend.
We had more food than we could eat.
Despite for a few hitches with the overnight rooms, everyone seem to have a great time.
There were 33 people in attendance.
I had a great time and the Retreat is my favorite gaming event.

I wanted to thank
Michelle Hymowitz for the chili, fruit tray and clean up;
Bill Duke and Doug Hoylman for assisting with clean up,
and a special thanks to Rodney Bacigalupo for his help with set up;
and to Leigh Eirich for her help with food set ups, maintenance and cleaning throughout the event.

Unfortunately the staff at Camp Frettred informed me that effective immediately they will no longer be renting out the facility. Apparently they are converting the Weinberg Center into an office building in early 2011.
I will be speaking to the GCOM Board of Directors about possible alternative events.
